The dried catnip flowers in Sublime Buds Catnip are the most potent form of catnip, period. Nepetalactone is the essential oil produced in catnip that make cats goofy and also help them relax. The flowers of the plant holds the highest concentration of essential oil. There is less nepetalactone in the leaves.

Buds are not easy to come by. They must be hand-harvested and delicately trimmed and packaged to remain intact. They must be harvested at the peak of freshness and are a seasonal product. Get them while you can!

How to use our catnip:

We recommend that you keep your catnip stored in it’s airtight bag to keep it fresh. Our catnip will stay potent for well over a year if kept out of the sun and airtight.

And due to its potency, all your kitty needs to feel that euphoric ecstasy is a tiny pinch. Just rub the catnip between your fingers to release all the oils stored in the catnip.

You can drop the catnip on the ground and they will usually nibble it up and/or roll around in it with pure bliss. Another great way to get your cat some exercise is to add some catnip to a favorite toy!

Is your cat forming some bad habits such as scratching their claws on your furniture?

Well, we have an easy solution for that! Take a scratching post (sisal rope or cardboard variety- they love either!) and put it right next to the furniture you want them to avoid. Sprinkle some catnip on the scratching post and let them know you are doing this and they will gladly jump down to the post now and ignore your furniture!

About Shady Cat Social Club

Shady Cat Social Club was started by an RN, Nikki, and the bulk of her experience is working with the elderly. She worked both as a staff nurse and in a management role. The idea for Shady Cat Social Club was born in 2019 during Nikki’s personal frustration with the corporatization of our healthcare system. All of the necessary documentation and policies that take healthcare workers away from the bedside really affects our ability to connect and comfort patients the way that they need and deserve.

However, when patients were given a stuffed animal to hold or when a therapy animal would visit, Nikki saw an utterly remarkable change in their demeanor and it was a huge “light bulb” moment for her. Having an animal to pet or just cuddle with calmed even the most frustrated dementia patients. She saw an opportunity to help others that needed comfort. She wanted to spread this impact by creating a space with a mission to bring health and happiness to cats and PEOPLE everywhere.

The main takeaway is that a pet can bring comfort without words, medicine, having to drive to an appointment, etc. It is a quiet and calm form of “therapy” really. Just love and companionship—something everyone needs like air and water, but not everyone has access to—and that is where Shady Cat comes in. WE can provide the access and assistance.

We also believe that organic, high-quality, and sustainable cat products should be available to all of our cat families.
